I had a chance to go for a short trip down to Yogyakarta a week ago with my creative part-nerd. It's been quite awhile since our last gateway to Bangkok years ago, and I'm surprised she's still my number one travel buddy up to today. Her chill and relax attitude was a perfect companion to get myself recharged somewhere else outside this hectic city.
She came down from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta on the same day we embarked to Yogyakarta by train at night. All catch-ups are done throughout regions, from dawn to dusk, from one meal to another, from permaculture farm to one of the seventh world's wonders, from laughters to tears, from what we were to what we would like to become.
As we managed to catch sunrise at Punthuk Setumbu and squeeze Borobodur in our impulsive itinerary, I got a chance to get to know her a lil bit better this time. I have always known her as one of inspiring friend, really, for both of her creative talent and 'green' lifestyle commitment. I learnt things through her perspective, as we exchange stories and all, and she shared good energy everytime we bounce ideas. She's always a practical and laid-back person to remind me of good things. Seriously, what else could I ask from a friend, other than such resonance and impact?
I flew home with an excess baggage in my head. Heavy, but necessary. There's a lot of ideas waiting to be executed. A lot of bravery needs to be injected, a lot of hope for a better self-being. And I really wish that one day I would bound to another trip with her again. Because a good travel buddy is a compass to help us navigate to find ourselves, to answer the questions, and to let us stay enlightened.
And I am very grateful for what I've had. Till we meet again, part-nerd.
Wish you a wonderful journey ahead.
